I have a pair of Razer Pro ear buds and love them! I don’t know how these ones are, but Razer makes some great and affordable headphones. Although, I do have a pair like these, a different manufacturer, and was not totally impressed with the sound quality. If you want a cheap pair of headphones from Woot, wait for the ear buds. They are great. These might be good, but if you high quality sound try one of these alternatives on Amazon.

Sling Media SB240-100 Slingbox-AV

Now we’re talking! This is the kind of product that Woot was built from. Imagine putting this into your home cable or satellite system and then be able to watch it on a laptop on the road. This makes it just like you were at home in front of the TV. Now when your Mom tells you that you have to go outside, take your laptop with you and watch everything from under the shade of your favorite apple tree.

If you travel at all, or don’t like being away from your TV, this is for you. There are some other slingboxes out there that do different things, so take a look around and see what fits you best.

If ewe dew decide to brake down and bye won, pick up a couple for your friends. It’s no fun being the soul smart one in your group of friends.

My love and hate relationship with CRAP

December 27th, 2007 by tom
2007 Random Crap - Holiday Edition

Sorry for the lack of entries the last couple of days. Zankster and I have both been very busy with families and other Holiday activities. Plus, as true Wootaholics, you should all know everything there is to know about CRAP.
I’ve actually haven’t had very good luck lately trying to get my crap over this past year. Hopefully 2008 will change my crap luck. I’ve gotten some great things over the years with crap but have to seemed to have just crapped out this year. The only advice I have about trying to get crap if you’ve never gotten it before is to just stick with it. Keep trying. Make sure you are always logged in before midnight and make sure that your payment methods are already selected. Heck, you should probably even memorize that 3 digit code on the back of your credit card. Just remember, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Good luck getting your crap in 2008!

Sony VAIO VGN-AR550U Digital Studio Notebook PC

Sony VAIO VGN-AR550U Digital Studio Notebook PC

A notebook PC is one of those things that I have a bit of a problem with buying on impulse. I’ve always thought that a major purchase like this should be thoroughly researched and explore all options. One of the biggest negatives on this is that you can’t customize it at all. For a system like this I would really like to have some more hard drive space. Working with video can take up a lot of space, especially if you are going to try to use it as a HD-DVR of sorts.

There are lots of cool things with notebook and it’s certainly a great price. Feel free to go ahead and give yourself a Christmas present. We all know you deserve it.

If the Phone Doesn’t Ring, It’s Me

Soyo FreeStyler 500 Bluetooth Headset

I’ve mentioned it before! I am tired of working with people that think they are so cool when they walk around our cubicle farm talking into their headsets like they own the place! I know who the big shots here are, and you are not one of them! And, why, please explain to me why, you walk into the bathroom talking on your headset and acting like nothing else is going on. I’m sure the party on the other end of the call can hear the toilets flushing. There’s no way to cover that up.Bluetooth headsets are great. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against them. And yes, I do even own one. Right now it is sitting in my car, waiting to connect to head.

Does believing you’re the last sane man on the planet make you crazy? ‘Cause if it does, maybe I am.

iRobot Roomba 510 Vacuum Cleaning Robot

I’m just going to go ahead and make this prediction now. Some day in the future we are going to be overrun by robots. Future civilizations will trace this demise to the large numbers of Roombas that they try to sell on their customers. Once these iRobot Roomba 510 Vacuum Cleaning Robots become self-aware, we are all in for a lot of trouble.

I wouldn’t suggest this to many people, but I would say it is appropriate for those of you with large amounts of disposal income, a college student, or someone who doesn’t really like their floors actually clean. Because of the frequency at which a Roomba product is listed I’m worried that they are creating clones of themselves and holding the Woot staff hostage. I believe this is a cry for help.

Check out some other options - and you can still get these in time for Christmas!

Kodak 8MP Digital Camera and Multifunction Printer Bundle

Kodak 8MP Digital Camera and Multifunction Printer Bundle

A malfunctioned printer? Who wants a malfunctioned printer...Oh, wait, it says multifunction! Well, that explains a lot. Like , you can use this printer print, scan and copy. Sorry, no fax function here. Although, if you are smart, like me, you’d have figured out that you can scan a copy of your document onto your computer and use an online faxing service to send. Yes, I did figure that out on my own. I’m very perceptive when it comes to that sort of stuff.Plus you get a nice little 8MP camera. I hope I don’t have to explain what a digital camera is…If you don’t know, go check out Wikipedia.

Check out some of these accessories and product alternatives to consider.
